Affiliate Links, Why I Use Them on FixYourGut.Com

I am going to be upfront and honest with you, my blog visitors. I use affiliate links to the products that I recommend and believe in on FixYourGut.com. The income earned from these affiliates goes to providing crucial content for the site, and the income is also used to update and modify the site as well. Without your support, none of this would be possible in the first place.

For example, there are links posting to Amazon throughout my magnesium post. I will only recommend products that I truly believe in, and if there is a product that exists that is better that is not an affiliate, I will still recommend it. There are some brands of magnesium in my blog post that isn’t offered at Amazon (magnesium peroxide, magnesium arginate). These brands are the best brands of magnesium peroxide and arginate, and I recommend them over the other alternative brands that are offered on Amazon.

FixYourGut.com is also a Bulletproof Affiliate. I recommend Bulletproof® coffee (as long as you do not have caffeine sensitivity or adrenal fatigue) and some of Dave’s other products on some of the blog posts on these sites. I believe in some of the products that Upgraded™ Self are selling are top notch quality.

Purchasing from affiliate links does not cost anything extra and are a small way to help contribute to the site.

I will never recommend anything that I do not believe in or would not use personally (products, MLM) on this site, and If I ever do break this personal rule, keep me honest. Thank you for your continued support, and I promise I will provide you with the most up to date digestive research on FixYourGut.com.

Best Health,
John Brisson

  1. Thank you Eric for the comments and words of wisdom. I just felt like I should be at the very least honest with the readers of my blog.

  3. Absolutely nothing wrong with using affiliate links to support your blog when you are providing such valuable information for free.

I respect the fact that you aren’t just shoving an affiliate link in everywhere you can – because unfortunately this is ultimately what has given affiliate sales such a bad reputation.

Affiliate links are much more preferable than useless Google Ads or other invasive banner adverts that:
    1) You cannot easily control their content
    2) Increase your reader’s risk of getting infected with viruses and spyware.

I would much rather buy a product as per your specific recommendation than follow a link / buy a product that is suggested to me via a computer algorithm.

Especially since as you said, affiliate links are at absolutely no cost to the consumer. It’s a great way for us to show support, and often if I come across a product suggestion without an affiliate link that I plan to buy, I will actually go and ask the person to give me their affiliate link so that I can support them.
